Deer Isle – Stonington

This exhibit features voices from The First Coast archives, recorded in 2018 and 2022, and several archival interviews from the Deer Isle – Stonington Historical Society. The audio was edited and produced by College of the Atlantic students Celia Morton and Annika Ross, with guidance and mentorship from professor and audio producer, Galen Koch.

Celia and Annika spent the 2022-2023 academic year at College of the Atlantic transcribing, reviewing, editing, and sound designing these stories. They entrenched themselves in community voices, becoming immersed in the history, heart, and soul of Deer Isle and Stonington.

The First Coast is supported by the Fund for Maine Islands, The Maine Community Foundation, and a partnership between Island Institute, College of the Atlantic, Maine Sea Grant, and Maine Sound + Story.
