Jonesport and Beals Exhibit and Soundwalks

Please join us for a virtual event to celebrate the Jonesport and Beals Exhibit and Soundwalks. The exhibit can be explored in-person at Jonesport’s Peabody Memorial Library from January 27th until mid-April, 2022.

Due to the pandemic, there will be an opening presentation about the exhibit and soundwalks via Zoom at 6:30 pm EST on January 27th, 2022. Please CLICK HERE to join the Zoom presentation!

Join audio producer Galen Koch, and College of the Atlantic students Ellie White and Camden Hunt, along with members of the Jonesport Historical Society and Beals Heritage Museum, to listen to a selection of audio stories from TFC’s Jonesport and Beals Exhibit. Featuring photographs by photojournalist Greta Rybus, audio stories edited by The First Coast’s lead producer Galen Koch and College of the Atlantic Students, this presentation features stories from Jonesport and Beals residents both past and present. Join us to celebrate stories of fishing, family, and place. And to learn how to access the Jonesport and Beals Exhibit and Soundwalks both online and in-person. Featuring stories from Charlie Alley, Ernest and Marilyn Kelley, Sonny Beal, Ray Beal, Gay Crowley, and many more.

The presentation will also feature information and a tour of a new online oral history database, Maine Sound + Story, a project by Galen Koch and community partners.
